We have a repeat prescription system for patients on regular medication. You may request a repeat prescription either personally, by telephone or on-line. To order repeat prescriptions on line please click on the link at the top of this page.
Telephone requests for repeat prescriptions may be made by ringing the Dispensary on 01608 819329 .
Irrespective of how you request a repeat prescription, please allow 48 hours, excluding weekends and Bank Holidays, for your request to be processed. Any problems telephone the surgery.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor or practice nurse usually once a year to review regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. The date will be set as your birthday to aid as a reminder for you & to spread reviews throughout the year. We don not expect you in on your Birthday! a week either side is fine.
It is helpful if you book this appointment with your usual doctor a few weeks before to avoid unnecessary delays to your prescriptions.
A dispensing patient is able to obtain their medications directly from Charlbury Surgery. Everyone else must use the local chemist or other designated pharmacy.
Legally a ‘Dispensing patient’ is defined as someone who lives more than one mile (1.6km) from their nearest chemist. Thus for the majority of our patients, anyone who lives more than a mile from the surgery is entitled to obtain their prescription items from the dispensary at the Medical Centre. However NHS England have decided that Charlbury Medical Centre patients can only be dispensed to according to the Parish they live in. Please ask one of our Dispensing team for more information. Dispensing patients are free to choose to collect their prescription items from a chemist if they so prefer.
